Scott R. Marquardt

Scott R. MarquardtScott R. Marquardt is a partner in the law firm of Marquardt & Belmonte, P.C. Mr. Marquardt received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Il and his Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Chicago, Illinois.

During law school, Mr. Marquardt was a law clerk at the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office. After graduating from law school, Mr. Marquardt became an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County. During his career at the State’s Attorney’s Office he worked several divisions: traffic, misdemeanor, felony and finally he was in charge of the Felony Screening Division prior to his departure in 1996. Since that time he has focused his attention on criminal defense and property tax appeals. He has both prosecuted and defended cases ranging from traffic violations, driving under the influence, theft, domestic battery as well as hundreds of felony matters. Mr. Marquardt is also president of a lobbying firm that focuses on State of Illinois legislative and executive issues.

Mr. Marquardt is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.

William T. Belmonte

William T. BelmonteWilliam T. Belmonte is a partner in the law firm of Marquardt & Belmonte P.C. Mr. Belmonte received his Bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, and his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law.

Mr. Belmonte began his career in law as a clerk and then an Assistant State’s Attorney with the DuPage County State’s Attorneys Office. While an Assistant State’s Attorney, Mr. Belmonte spent time in the traffic, misdemeanor, and felony divisions of that office. While spending the majority of his time in the felony division, he was assigned to prosecute general felonies ranging from forgery and theft to armed robbery and reckless homicide. He also spent a year prosecuting drug cases involving the manufacture and delivery of cannabis, cocaine, heroin, and LSD.

Since leaving the State’s Attorneys Office in August of 1997, Mr. Belmonte has expanded his practice of law to include personal injury, worker’s compensation, commercial and residential real estate, and he also represents various businesses which include automobile dealers and industrial equipment producers.

Mr. Belmonte is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the DuPage County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is also actively involved as an Arbitrator in DuPage County.

Demetrios N. Panoushis

Demetrios N. PanoushisDemetrios N. Panoushis is an associate in the law firm of Marquardt & Belmonte, P.C. Mr. Panoushis received his Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, IL and his Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Chicago, Illinois.

During law school, Mr. Panoushis was a law clerk at the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office working in the Criminal Complaints and Victim Services Units. After graduating from law school, Mr. Panoushis became an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County. As an Assistant State’s Attorney he handled thousands of criminal cases including traffic, driving under the influence, misdemeanor, and felony matters. Mr. Panoushis has also received certified training from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration relating specifically to driving under the influence matters and standardized field sobriety testing. Since leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, Mr. Panoushis has focused his attention on criminal defense.

Mr. Panoushis is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.

Daniel F. Hanlon

Daniel F. HanlonDaniel F. Hanlon is an associate in the law firm of Marquardt & Belmonte, P.C. Mr. Hanlon received his Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois, and his Masters of Business Administration and his Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

Mr. Hanlon is admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

During law school, Mr. Hanlon was a law clerk with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office working mainly in the Civil Division and the Juvenile Felony Division. After graduating from law school, Mr. Hanlon became an Assistant State's Attorney in DuPage County. As an Assistant State's Attorney he handled numerous traffic and criminal misdemeanor cases as well as juvenile misdemeanor and felony cases. After leaving the State's Attorney's Office, Mr. Hanlon focused on civil litigation matters including, but not limited to, mortgage foreclosure matters, forcible entry and detainer matters and construction law.

Barbara D. Skurka

Barbara D. SkurkaBarbara D. Skurka is an associate of Marquardt & Belmonte, P.C. Ms. Skurka received her Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Ms. Skurka was a law clerk with the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office during law school and was hired as an assistant shortly after graduation. While at the State’s Attorney’s Office, Ms. Skurka worked in several different divisions: traffic, juvenile, misdemeanor and felony. Prior to her departure from the office in 1995, Ms. Skurka oversaw the auto theft prosecutions in DuPage County. After leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, Ms. Skurka went in to private practice where she focused on criminal defense, Secretary of State reinstatement hearings, village prosecutions and family law. In 2000, Ms. Skurka went to work for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. At the Attorney General’s Office, she was assigned to the Sexually Violent Persons Bureau for one year and was then promoted to the Deputy Chief of the Medicaid Fraud Bureau.

Ms. Skurka is a member of the DuPage County and Illinois State Bar Association.
